What is Wishstack?

Product Hunt ranks the products people built. Wishstack ranks the things people wish existed— a public board of real problems, sorted by how many people want them solved. You post a wish (a problem you’d love a tool to fix), other people back the ones they feel too, and makers browse the board to find their next thing to build. When someone builds it, the wish is granted.

It turns the most common question in software — “what should I build?” — on its head. Instead of guessing, makers can see exactly what people are asking for and how many feel the same pain. And instead of suffering in silence, anyone with a problem can put it somewhere a builder will actually see it.

A quick but important note: backing a wish with “I’d pay too” is a way to signal genuine interest and demand. It’s not a payment, a pledge, or a transaction — nobody is charged, and no money changes hands on Wishstack. It’s simply the clearest way to say “this is a real problem, and I’m not the only one with it.”

The problem it solves

Good ideas and unmet needs are scattered everywhere — buried in forum threads, lost in chat groups, half-remembered in someone’s notes app. The people who feel a problem rarely reach the people who could solve it.

That creates two frustrations Wishstack exists to fix:

For the people with problems, there’s nowhere to put a need where it might actually get built. You complain about a missing tool, and the complaint evaporates. You wish something existed, and the wish goes nowhere.

For the people who build, the hardest part isn’t writing the code — it’s knowing what to build. Makers pour months into products nobody wanted, because demand is invisible until after you’ve shipped. There’s no single place to see what people are actually asking for, with proof that more than one person cares.

Wishstack puts both sides in the same room. Demand becomes visible, rankable, and specific. Makers build with evidence instead of guesswork. Problems find the people who can solve them.

To show how the board works, some early wishes are labeled Seed — added by the Wishstack team to get things started. Every backing, comment, and claim on them comes from real people; we never fake demand.

Who it’s for

Wishstack is for two kinds of people — and most of our community is both:

Makers — indie hackers, solo founders, developers, and small teams looking for their next project. If you can build, Wishstack is a feed of validated demand: real problems, ranked by how many people want them, waiting to be claimed. Stop guessing what to build. Start with what people are already asking for.

Wishers— anyone who’s ever thought “I wish there was a tool that…”You don’t need to be technical. If you have a problem worth solving, post it and let makers come to you. The more people who back your wish, the more likely someone builds it.

Wishstack is a global community — open to makers and wishers anywhere in the world, in any niche, working in whatever corner of software they care about most.
